Trip Home - Part 3

I went for a hike with my sister one of the days I was home. The clouds were so pretty and fluffy.
There was this neon green moss on all the trees, it was actually quite beautiful.
After climbing this massive hill because the park gates were not open yet, we got to the trail.
Bella was showing us the way up the hill. Show off! :)
We got her to sit pretty under the pine tree, it was nice being in the shade for a bit.
My sister with Bella.
When we got home, Bella wouldn't get out of the car. I guess she wanted more hiking?

Flu Season

I had a horrible flu this weekend and continue to have a cough. I'm still not fully recovered.

I recommend everyone check their medicine cabinet to see if you have medicine that hasn't expired. Cold and Flu Medicine, cough drops, tylenol or advil and plenty of klenex on hand! Once the flu hits you will not want to move! Also, you should have plenty of chicken soup and your favorite juice in your pantry!

Don't be caught off guard like I was, it's a pretty bad strain this year. If you haven't had your flu shot, you may want to consider getting it. Flu season has just started.

I'm hoping that because I've been sick twice in the past 2 months that I'll be immune to everything from now on... One can only wish!

I think, ACHOO!,
I have the flu.
I'm sneezing, and ACHOO! ACHOO!
I'm not sure what, ACHOO!, to do.
You say, ACHOO!, don't sneeze on you?
ACHOO! Whoops. Now you've got it too.

Trip Home - Part 1

I have so many pictures from my trip home with my family during Thanksgiving, so I guess I'll share it one day at a time.

Here goes...

The first day I was home I went to a little town called San Juan Bautista. I grew up going here for school because they have a mission there and they also have the San Andreas fault line, which is a very active fault line. I hardly think of this stuff though when I go there because there's not earthquakes every day.
We went to a little diner, nothing special, but I always love breakfast at diners.
Then we walked around town at the local antique shops.
This is me with a little ceramic skunk that I bought. Why did I buy at skunk you ask? I have no clue! haha

At the end of the day I got this gorgeous dusk shot. I love the colors against the purple flower.
At the end of the day I met up with my high school friend and we went to see Skyfall, the new James Bond movie. It was awesome. I definitely recommend seeing it. I would actually go see it again if you need someone to go with? :)

Hope you have a great Friday!!

Quote of the Day

A good life is when you assume nothing,
do more,
need less,
smile often,
dream big,
laugh a lot
and realize how blessed you are for what you have.

Snowing For a Moment

I got back to New Jersey on Sunday and it was cold. But here I am today and it's snowing...well, it was snowing. It snowed long enough to stick in some places, like on my car.

Right when I got my camera out is when it started to becoming melting snow. But it's still beautiful for however long it lasts.

And here's the last sign of fall, a couple leaves on the bush outside my door.

I guess it's time for Christmas Decorations anyway.

Thanksgiving

I'm having a great time in California visiting my family. I've been taking lots of pictures and some I've been putting on Instagram if you want to check them out.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. That Hurricane Sandy has really made me appreciate all that I have and the support from my friends and family.

I made the usual with my sister as we always do, but I also tried a new recipe called sweet potato soufflé and it was sooooo good. I'll have to find the link to share because it really was great.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving By Ralph Waldo Emerson

For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love and friends, For everything Thy goodness sends.
