Random Sunday Blogging II

I just realized from last week's random blogging that I forgot to talk about the ginger dressing I made which was FANTASTIC! I combined a couple of recipes online to make a spectacular recipe...however I did not measure so I have no idea what amounts I used.

minced garlic
grated fresh ginger root (about an inch off the root)
1/2 cup olive oil
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 a lemon juiced

I'm estimating what I used. I'll have to make it again and give more accurate measurements. Its a a tough job but someone has to do it! It was so good though, I had it over some butter lettuce, which is my favorite lettuce.

On another Random note, I bought the Soprano's Season 1 & 2 and I'm loving it. Maybe I love it because I am living in New Jersey and everyone...or at least almost everyone has the same accent they have in this TV series.

Fuhgettaboutit!

Random 3....And also football started this weekend. Go SF 49ers! I have moved away from California but I can't stop being a Niner fan. However I've picked up some football teams on my travels, like the Steelers, which I became a fan of when I lived in Pittsburgh for 4 years in college. And now I'm in Giants/Jets territory....Go big Blue/Green...haha

Today is a cleaning day and I don't wanna! I'm just chilling here sipping on my coffee and watching Rocky watching whatever he's watching out the window...

Watching the watchers... That's the a good name for a book....right? How many ellipses can I use in one sentence?

Have a good day dreaming out the window.............. :)

Painting My Nails

I started realizing how expensive it was to go get my nails done. They do such a great job, but they paint only stays on my nails for 2 days before it starts chipping. I'm not a huge fan of acrylics and the new lacquer polish is nice, but that gets expensive too. I've also always wanted long nails...but I've come to realize it is just NOT in the cards (or is it stars) for me. I've started buying myself polishes that way I can still make my short nails pretty.

My newest purchase was 2 more Butter London's. I don't know why I like this brand I just do. Maybe it's the packaging, or maybe I'm just coo-coo for anything British.

These two lovely ladies are Rosie Lee (Left) and Macbeth (Right)

Macbeth for me is just a classic color and I love it, it's not too red and it's not too summery....at least for my lighter skin complexion.

I'm still a little on the fence about the Rosie Lee, I love the color, but I'm not sure about the sparkliness of it. I tried it this week and I couldn't find my topcoat to put on top, which would smooth out the top. I haven't tried to use nail polish remover yet to see how easily it comes off, but I know using the sparkle nail polish is more difficult to remove.

Have I talked enough about Nail Polish?? :)

I'm really not reviewing this, this is just what I like and what I'm into at the moment.

I can't wait for fall, I love the darker colors of fall and I'm really interested in getting a pumpkin color for fall...you know to go along with my Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. Yum!

My Californianess is craving the coastal fog. I need a cool day! :)

Random Sunday Blogging

I LOVE THE OLYMPICS! I sat and watched the entire opening ceremony and I wish I could be in London. I've been to London once before about 7 years ago and its one of the best family trips that I remember. I watch as the news spans through the city and I recall being there and I just love reliving it. But I'm not loving the Olympics because it's in London, but because I just love hearing people's stories and I love cheering for the USA. But I don't always cheer for USA, sometimes I get caught up in the stories and I cheer for the underdog. I tuned in to the end of the men's 200 km cycling and watching the cyclist from Kazakhstan overtake the lead and sprint to the finish. I guess I just love surprises. I watched the women's indoor volleyball and boy are they powerful. I've always loved volleyball and I especially love the crazy jump serves as well as the hard and fast spikes. It was an awesome game against South Korea. I'm looking forward to the beach volleyball today.

So randomly I have been craving ginger. When I get sushi I absolutely love pickled ginger, I don't even need to put it on top of the sushi, I can just eat it straight. I went to the grocery store yesterday and bought some ginger so I can make a fresh ginger dressing. I bought some rice vinegar as well and I knew I had honey and soy sauce already. I have looked up several dressings and there are lots of different variations, some people add dijon mustard and lemon as well as garlic. I guess I never noticed any of those parts. I know I saw a Rachel Ray episode where she added a touch of the sesame oil to the olive oil to give it a little sesame flavor. I don't know which I will choose, but if it's good I will share it.

Current Song Fav's

My current favorite songs are:

Neon Trees - Everybody Talks

Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know

Train - Drive By

I just love all these songs. And Neon Trees is in that Buick Commercial and I love the heart shaped sunglasses!

Doesn't it make you want to get a pair of those heart glasses?

These are from FredFlare.com

I also found these really really pretty heart shaped sunglasses with crystals all around it.
I found these on Etsy at The Haus That Jane Built Aren't they Gorgeous!?

Walrus makes me Smile

I saw this on Jimmy Kimmel last night, which is funny because I hardly ever watch Jimmy Kimmel. But I thought this video was great, it made me smile.

San Francisco Treat

I found this picture of San Francisco that I took years ago. It's still beautiful. I love that you can see the Golden Gate in the background as the fog starts to roll into the bay. This is the view from Fisherman's Wharf and don't ask me what pier number because I don't remember. I'm guessing it's Pier 39 which is pretty much the main tourist pier.

♫ If you're going to San Francisco Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair ♫

Random Summer Pictures

You can kind of see New York City in the distance. It was super hot and the water was nice and cool.
A handsome man was swimming to stay cool. I was too much of a wimp to take a direct photo of him.
Beautiful sail boat slowly floating along. I absolutely love sailing. It's so relaxing when the wind it some what calm and there's not motor just the sound of the boat cutting through the water. I love it.

But then of course there's the type of sailing where you're going super fast and a huge angle and the boat is completely tilted, that can be really fun too!

Makes me want to go sailing now.
