Trip Home - Part 1

I have so many pictures from my trip home with my family during Thanksgiving, so I guess I'll share it one day at a time.

Here goes...

The first day I was home I went to a little town called San Juan Bautista. I grew up going here for school because they have a mission there and they also have the San Andreas fault line, which is a very active fault line. I hardly think of this stuff though when I go there because there's not earthquakes every day.
We went to a little diner, nothing special, but I always love breakfast at diners.
Then we walked around town at the local antique shops.
This is me with a little ceramic skunk that I bought. Why did I buy at skunk you ask? I have no clue! haha

At the end of the day I got this gorgeous dusk shot. I love the colors against the purple flower.
At the end of the day I met up with my high school friend and we went to see Skyfall, the new James Bond movie. It was awesome. I definitely recommend seeing it. I would actually go see it again if you need someone to go with? :)

Hope you have a great Friday!!

Quote of the Day

A good life is when you assume nothing,
do more,
need less,
smile often,
dream big,
laugh a lot
and realize how blessed you are for what you have.

Snowing For a Moment

I got back to New Jersey on Sunday and it was cold. But here I am today and it's snowing...well, it was snowing. It snowed long enough to stick in some places, like on my car.

Right when I got my camera out is when it started to becoming melting snow. But it's still beautiful for however long it lasts.

And here's the last sign of fall, a couple leaves on the bush outside my door.

I guess it's time for Christmas Decorations anyway.

Thanksgiving

I'm having a great time in California visiting my family. I've been taking lots of pictures and some I've been putting on Instagram if you want to check them out.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. That Hurricane Sandy has really made me appreciate all that I have and the support from my friends and family.

I made the usual with my sister as we always do, but I also tried a new recipe called sweet potato soufflé and it was sooooo good. I'll have to find the link to share because it really was great.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Gorgeous Dusk

I couldn't get home fast enough to run out and capture the sky. I'm really upset that the sun sets at 4:45...but the sky was beautiful!!

Muted Edits

I took a picture of Rocky yesterday and I just played with the editing. I noticed that lately I'm into a muted/ antiqued look. I love the glow of this picture without taking away what Rocky looks like.

Oh and by the way, the only reason he's sitting still is because I had a treat in my hand bribing him to sit and look pretty. He did a pretty good job, right?

Wreaths

I love wreaths.
I love the one I have on the door right now, it's fragrant and smells like Autumn.
I love the colors of it on the door. It looks so autumn and festive.
I got this wreath at Home Goods for a pretty good price.
I can't wait to get a Christmas wreath. I usually get a pine wreath because I love the smell!

Foggy Monday Morning

I was telling one of my friends from home how much I missed the California Coastal Fog. And a couple days later we get this! It was a beautiful pillowy cloud blanket hugging the earth. I just love it. There is something soothing and peaceful about fog.

Lazy Sunday

Well today was a Lazy Sunday, even though I woke up pretty early and got a picture with the rising sun.
This pampas grass is really pretty. However, I grew up in California where the pampas grass take over and have really sharp stringy leaves. I like these little ones that are more tame. They've been house broken! haha

Anyway, I had myself a lovely cup of Awake Tazo tea. I don't know what it is about tea, but I love the soothing feeling and the aroma of the herbs. I opted for milk and honey in my tea this morning and my boston terrier, Rocky, who just turned 2 years old today, was in love with my tea as well. I had left a little in my cup and walked away and he got up on the coffee table (tea table?) and was lapping it up. Rocky is the reason I know so much about what people food dogs can eat. He loves carrots, apples (don't let them have the seeds), bananas, blue berries and now honey!
His first carrot! What a cute puppy!

Anyway, I have to get to cleaning because I've been slacking. I already cleaned the bathroom, now on to the kitchen. Enjoy your day!

First Snow

Frosty Morning before the Nor'Easter hit.
During the Storm
Parking Lot was all snow covered
What a beautiful snowy morning.
A colorful end to the day.
When I got home from work the snow was melting and I was trying to get the sunset. However the sun is setting at 4:45, but I still was able to get a pretty picture.
